DATbar Newcastle

Today's xsite is Adrian...

Launched last month DATBAR is the latest in a series of projects xsite have completed for the De Giorgi family stretching back more than 10 years now and including some of the best loved venues in Newcastle. A craft beer / pizza / burger joint sat in the ground floor of the grade 1 listed Theatre Royal building, the interior is a collaboration with the super talented boys at Dirty Hands co  www.dirtyhandsco.com . Formerly Pasqualinos restaurant, the fit out set about providing a physical separation from the Theatre itself and a strong new identity focused on the food and beer and driven by Dirty Hands’ signature graphic work and illustration applied to a Vintage Industrial backdrop. Go get a beer, share a burger and take a look.

Work starts at the Tyneside Cinema

Today's xsite is Anna...

Work has begun at the Tyneside Cinema on a new project to create an intimate 40-seater digital video art gallery and cinema, as well as a vibrant new bar café that fronts onto Pilgrim Street. The new bar will incorporate an area for customers to enjoy a drink and food in cabaret-style seating while watching films.

The bar currently on the third floor will no longer be needed, leaving room for a multi-function space that will be used to host film and video gallery installation pieces during the day, while offering a fourth screen at night.

Brasserie Hudson Quay completed

Today's xsite is Robin...

Our latest restaurant and cafe project has just been completed. Located in Middlesbrough’s Middlehaven district adjacent to the Riverside Stadium, Brasserie Hudson Quay offers all day high-quality food and drink for up to 100 seats.

The Brasserie will be open from 6th July with bookings available to be taken now: Visit http://www.brasseriehudsonquay.com/ to make a reservation.

From the website:

“Brasserie Hudson Quay has been designed to recall the Grand European Cafes of France, Spain and Italy, providing a unique dining experience in a luxurious yet contemporary setting.

The style and ambience is distinctly European, providing an experience normally reserved for capital cities. In this respect, the Brasserie is exceptional and unique to the Greater Teesside area. Opening until late into the evening, the Brasserie is a destination venue offering a complete evening out, where customers can look out over the waters of Middlehaven inlet, chat with friends and relax against a background of chilled lounge music.

Based primarily on Classical French, Spanish and Italian cooking, Brasserie Hudson Quay offers a combination of style which predominates throughout Europe's Grand Cafes and Brasseries, where the most popular dishes from all of the countries have merged.”

Rivers House

Today's xsite is Robin...

Our office fitout project at Rivers House, in Middlesbrough, is approaching completion. Following on from the 2 Hudson Quay project for the same Client, Fabrick Housing, this fitout features a new customer contact centre for the housing association, a totally revamped reception area, lettings and interview rooms, and office space for 93 staff members.

The design for the office space is influenced by the stages of the River Tees, and features a palette of materials and colours which reflect specific locations of the river.  Large scale photographs taken by staff members are to be printed onto storage walls, and the colours of the furniture have been selected by the theme for each area.

Digital City on Dovecot Street

Today's xsite is Rowena...

Stockton Borough Council’s new ‘Digital City’ on Dovecot Street in Stockton is now underway.  The new networking and office space along with fold down hot desks and fold out slim offices will be housed in a Grade II * listed former Quaker Meeting House.

The building has undergone some un-sympathetic internal refurbishment works in the past, which have now been stripped out to open up the internal space, revealing the high ceilings and original roof trusses previously hidden behind suspended ceilings. This has vastly improved the quality of the space already.

The proposed scheme retains and refurbishes with traditional methods the fabric of the building whilst providing a modern, contemporary, flexible space internally.

The project is due for completion mid January 2013.

The Fabrick office fitout is complete and the offices occupied as of Monday!

Some 200 staff are now busy unpacking, sorting files and bedding into their new office environment. Initial feedback has been extremely positive, and we can’t wait to see the office in use once everyone has settled in.
